Orange Oasis...

I have been hearing a lot about white this Fashion Week, but the color that has stood out to me most is: Orange. Somewhat of a tricky and tough color, but I have to admit I have really been liking the bright, bold offerings for next Spring.

WILD for WHIT

Last week I saw the line WHIT at Steven Alan in Tribeca and immediately fell in love. I rushed home to start a post on this new brand, but could not find anything online about them! So I was thrilled when I stumbled upon an article referencing WHIT on nymag.com last night. Brooklyn based designer Whitney Pozgay worked at Kate Spade and Steven Alan before she set out on her own with her somewhat eponymous brand: WHIT. The models in her Fall look book are all wearing quite interesting head pieces (think oversized wine glasses, forks, arrows)...I guess quirky runs in the family - she is the fabulous Kate Spade's niece - which trust me is a good thing!

The second I laid eyes on the high waisted balloon skirt (above, left) I knew I had to have it...

Weekend finds...

It was another hot and steamy weekend in NYC, but that was not enough to stop this dedicated shopper from hitting the streets and specifically the Steven Alan flagship store in Tribeca. I love love love this store - it is a great mix of casual, fun, girly and edgy. Best of all Steven started as a menswear designer and stocks a good amount of mens clothing in the back so guys will not be bored if you drag them along.

I must go back soon for one of these beach blankets. They come in an array of colors and would be perfect for a day in the park or plopping down on at an outdoor concert. They are also a fabulous idea for a gift, one bride-to-be was scooping up a bunch for her bridesmaids gifts...how chic!
With a Hawaiian vacation quickly approaching I am on the hunt for some cute bathing suits. Luckily, I had come to the right place as there were a ton of options. I zeroed in on the Petit Bateau bikinis. They are a great price at $60 and come in a very cute little plastic tote!
The scallop detail around the edges adds to an otherwise basic suit...

A little something for the guys - it would not be a just Steven Alan post without some plaid...

Last but not least the Keds and Steven Alan collaboration incorporates one of my faves - ikat - with a classic shoe...

Happy shopping!
