Posen for Target - Affordable Chic!

Target recently released images of their new collection designed by Zac Posen. I have made some mistakes buying Target collaboration pieces before, but I think I will have to try again when this line hits stores at the end of April. Personally I am gravitating towards the fun and flirty dresses, but there are also swimsuits and tuxedo pants. At these price points why not take a chance!

(*as always click on the image for a better view)

The Zac Posen for Target collection hits stores April 25th. Prices range from $16.99-$199.99. To view the complete lookbook click here.

Flower Power

The new J.Crew catalogue showcases (as always!) amazing styling and photography. I am loving the abundance of florals - both on the clothing and in the fresh flowers that they used to prop the shots.

While NYC weather may not agree, for J.Crew Spring is officially here...

New Designer Crush: Olivia Harris

I love handbags, but am constantly shocked by the price tags accompanying today's "it bags." Case in point, the Mulberry Alexa bag that I have been lusting after desperately (sigh). Ok, moving on...After a stint at Marc Jacobs and launching her own eponymous line, Gryson, accessories designer Joy Gryson launched Olivia Harris. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this line offers a little something for everyone and at much more reasonable price points (most bags come in under $500 with a strong offering of bags closer to $200).

If you are looking to stay on trend with studs - she has a whole line full of them!

For those in the market for a bag with a little more staying power and a bit of pizazz wrapped up into one, her zipper collection will be right up your alley.

Last, but not least there are also options for the more classic-minded.

Everyone loves an inventive cocktail and I discovered a new fave this weekend, the Chamomile Toddy, at L'Artusi in the West Village. Chamomile is known for its ability to relax and aid sleep, so what better ingredient could you ask for in a nightcap?? The Chamomile Toddy is made of chamomile tea, chamomile grappa, whiskey, lemon, and orange bitters. In one word: delicious...and I slept like a baby!

Countdown to Eat, Pray, Love!

The first trailer to the much anticipated Eat, Pray, Love movie was released last week and in anticipation of the upcoming release I picked up a copy of Elizabeth Gilbert's follow-up, Committed. This book has not been met with as much applause as the original, but then again what could? Personally, I am looking forward to reacquainting myself with Elizabeth before seeing Julia Roberts play her on the big screen this summer!

For those of you who have not yet seen the trailer, you can watch it below. If you have read the book, I would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to post in the comments section!

Wine...coming to a juice aisle near you

I was out to dinner the other night when I was shocked to see that the table next to me was being served wine... out of a juice box?! Tetra Pak, as I later learned the packaging was called, is making it's way to the US after being an accepted form of delivery in Europe. Forget about Franzia, wine in a box is moving it's way up in the world! Added incentive: tetra paks are more environmentally friendly.

Check the juice aisle next time you're in the market for wine. My personal fave LIOCO is on board and will be available in tetra paks soon!

J.Crew + Manolo + Louboutin...Oh, My!

J.Crew creative director, Jenna Lyons, sent fashionistas into a tizzy today when she announced that she would love to collaborate with either Manolo Blahnik or Christian Louboutin on women's shoes. The best in preppy + one of the BEST in the biz? My feet are anxiously awaiting!

Just because...

The below images in the April issue of Elle Decor, taken of a cosmetic executive's dining room in her London home, caught my eye. I love the pops of pink, what looks to be crushed velvet upholstered doors in a rich blue that ties in beautifully with the painting above the fireplace. Most importantly, I am seriously coveting those yellow leather dining chairs.

How amazing would it be to eat breakfast here every morning with the light spilling in from the garden...trés chic!

To The Tens Shopping Guide: Book Hill, D.C.

A few blocks away from the heavily trafficked, chain-laden Wisconsin and M Street intersection of Georgetown lays a block of charming boutiques, antique stores, and cafes. The stretch of shops that lays in between Book Hill Park to the north and P Street to the south is my go-to place for unique finds, gifts, and local flavor in Washington D.C. Here is a quick preview of what you will find (click on the images to get a closer look):

A Mano resides in a beautiful house sheltered by impeccably pruned trees and flanked by planters and greenery. In short, you will want to move in immediately! The store's name means "made by hand" and in true form the inventory of items are just that. Upon entering the store you will be overwhelmed by the explosion of color in the front room that houses the majority of the store's china, glassware, and serving pieces. I love the less trafficked, upstairs area where you can find select pieces of furniture, lighting, mirrors, and an abundance of pottery. With stores in Georgetown, DC, Naples, FL and Hamptons, NY keep them in mind the next time you are searching for the perfect gift or looking to spice up your tabletop. DC area residents: take a trip to the patio of the Georgetown store where you will find gorgeous planters and garden accessories.

To The Tens A Mano faves: orange Hermes tray, blown glass barware in an array of colors, and the undulating white coral "Coco" mirror by Made Goods.

A few storefronts down is Oliver Dunn, Moss&Co., and Catharine Roberts. One store with 3 creative owners and some of the most unique and visually pleasing home accents I have ever seen. In addition to beautiful farmhouse style wood tables and amazing lighting options you will find an assortment of John Derian decoupage, taxidermy and tabletop decor.

To The Tens Oliver Dunn, Moss$Co., Catharine Roberts faves: Wood branch lamp, linen pillows, "peacock-esque" fireplace gate, zebra cowhide chair, butterfly glass lamp, stag antlers, and the backyard garden filled with topiaries and green thumb finds.

Last but not least, be sure to pop in to Marston Luce Antiques. Step into Marston Luce and you will get a glimpse into the way he lives his life. His friend who was helping at the store last time I visited told me that his store mirrors the look and feel of his home. In one word, I was envious! The rooms are filled with furniture, accessories and art that he finds on his many shopping excursions to France, where he also lives part time.

To The Tens Marston Luce faves: Swan in the window that used to be part of an old carousel, abundance of green, monogrammed linens, and patterned pillows.

After an afternoon of shopping head to The Bean Counter for a quick lunch or down to Thomas Sweet's on P Street for a sweet treat.

Happy shopping! xx

Call me.

Gone are the days of writing your number down on a cocktail napkin or plugging a number into your phone only to forget about it the next day. Custom calling cards are popping up all over the place and perfect for anyone looking to make a lasting impression. Give them something to remember you by!

Why beat around the bush - when you can just cut to the chase. (*Notice the fine print on the bottom of the card!)

Green with Envy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I love the color green- emerald, mint, lime, celadon and occasionally even a neon when the right occasion presents itself. Green has been showing up a lot in interiors recently and in honor of today I wanted to showcase a few choice examples.

ID: Steven Gambrel as seen in Elle Decor

ID: Architectural Digest "Green Room" for the Academy Awards

ID: Miles Redd- the man can do no wrong. Emerald and nail heads, swoon.

A little Madeline Weinrib can complete any room.

Enjoy St. Patty's Day! xx
