I was beyond excited to receive my new stationery in the mail last week from Fancy Shmancy Notes. They truly exceeded my expectations...

To The Tens Crush: Mary Kate Steinmiller

I am very disappointed that during my tenor at Teen Vogue I never met Miss Mary Kate Steinmiller. An intern at the time I was there she is now the Fashion Market Editor who is wowing bloggers and fashionistas alike on a daily basis.  I was thrilled to see that the new site, the Coveted, provided us with a glimpse into the inner sanctum of Mary Kate's closet. 

I would love to spend a day playing dress-up with all of her beautiful pieces. Since we both share a propensity for skirts (the more the swing the better!) and cropped sweaters I think we would get along just fine! 

My favorite images from the shoot are of the bracelets that she hand makes herself and sells to a limited selection of stores. She first started making these to fill in for an accessories mishap on a Teen Vogue shoot and since then has been making them for herself, friends and styling...

The photography is beautiful and while it may not exactly be literal peeks inside their fashionable subject's closets, the vignettes are styled impeccably and not to be missed...after all when shooting New Yorker's closets (aka non-existent) you really must use your imagination!

Emerson Made is a vibrant, quirky and energetic company run by husband and wife duo Emerson and Ryan. Emerson is the face of the brand and whether she is sharing her off-the-wall phrases on facebook or modeling her lovely clothing online she is sure to brighten your day. A constant dilemma of mine is that I love cropped and blousy tops, but not in a I want to let my belly hang out kind of way (no, thank you!). Thankfully these pair of High Riser jeans by Madwell seem to be the answer to all my problems. They are also in a perfect shade of dark indigo with invisible stitching - trés magnifique!

Wu does Weddings

Since reading earlier this month that Jason Wu would be launching his first bridal collection exclusively on Net-a-Porter I have been anxiously waiting for the pieces to go online. Wu had said that he wanted to explore non-traditional bridal and create pieces that were more versatile and functional. As a result he has a collection composed of mostly separates and only 1 long gown. It is a departure from what you may traditionally consider bridal, but I definitely think it will fill a niche for the modern bride. (In the least they would make great party dresses for the bride who wants 2 dresses...)
