Jibe-ho!

I may not be a big sailor (yet!), but with their suntanned bodies and windblown locks what's not to love about a skipper?? Best of all, they have some seriously cool style that continues to infiltrate the mainstream fashion set (case in point - metallic sperry topsiders)...

First stop - or should I say port - is 44 knots. A California company who loves recycling and fashion and has great products to show for it. They recycle old vintage sails into what is sure to be your new favorite tote bag. So not only are the bags uber chic, they are also ready to stand up to the elements. They're available in 3 sizes and a variety of nautical designs. Check them out here and below.

Set yourself apart from the sea of boat shoes out there with a pair of SeaVees... not a "revival" as they like to say of the brand that launched in 1964, but a "rehabilitation." Whatever it is, they are doing something right. I love the simplicity of the styles, the color options and sporty feel. To find a retailer nearest you, click here.

I couldn't resist adding in a little fashion piece to top it all off - may not be the most practical for a day out at sea, but you'll look great!

Just because...J.Crew Collection kind of rocks!

I am loving the new J.Crew "chick flick" video - the outfits, the music, the model...they are all perfection! Check out the video on J.Crew's homepage. Thank you to dress, design & decor who created a great collage of the video that I stumbled upon when looking for the video file.

A few of my fave collection pieces...

Ikat dot blazer - $198

Degrade Seraphina dress - $450

Jeweled Maya sandals - $298

My serious lust piece: A.R. Trapp troubadour sunglasses ($395):

West Elm + Mike Miller collaboration

West Elm has a great collaboration in the works with artist and antiques dealer, Mike Miller. The pieces are described as "modern photo collage silhouettes with stop-you-in-your-tracks graphic appeal" and are super affordable (ranging from $19-$79). I plan on snatching up a few of his silhouettes to add to my growing gallery wall!

Must buy: Current/Elliott captain trouser

If you are looking for the perfect pair of comfy yet cool pants for the summer, look no further. I tried these Current/Elliott captain trousers on the other day and am loving them. Available in white, khaki and army green they look great paired with sandals and a tee or dressed up with a wedge and blouse. I promise these will become your favorite pair of pants! Shopping tip: they are running a tad big so you may want to try one size down. Happy shopping!

Rag & Bone - Resort 2011

Rag & Bone continues to impress. After an amazing response to their Fall collection, they showed that they're not slowing down with their Resort preview. David Neville, one half of the R&B design duo, told Style.com that this collection "isn't about dressing for St. Bart's. It's more of a cool, urban look."  Translation: they're designing for the real world because when it comes down to it how many of us are heading to St. Bart's for a couple months come Resort timing?

Some great R&B pieces that are available in-stores now and a few of my picks to last you year-round. This military jacket can be paired with almost anything and army green is a great, versatile color that can toughen up any look. The silk sheath dress is a must-have basic and I'm a sucker for all outfits that start with shorts. Hit up R&B next time you want to up your cool factor!
