WEEKLY Tens

Sadly...this poster is SO me!
http://www.sfgirlbybay.com/2010/09/20/just-because-it’s-awesome/

There are so many great details in this apartment - the pink, the green, the china, the bar - I don't know where to start! But, the real scene stopper is those views of NYC...heavenly!

Fallon at A Lovely Being (an amazing blog!!) sent me the link to this picture of Carey Mulligan at the Never Let Me Go premiere and I had to share...Who else could pull off this look??!

This iPhone cover may be cute enough to make me finally succumb to "cover" phenomenon...

I am off to Italy on Monday for a best friend's wedding in Tuscany. This post is a little old, but I thought it was the perfect thing to get me in the mood (not that I need much help with that, it is Italy!!)...

Crushing on Carey: 2

I do not think I will ever tire of Carey Mulligan. She is on her path to becoming a major force in Hollywood and after reading the interview in Vogue, of which she grace the cover, it is official - she is as adorable as she looks. She will be hitting the big screen soon in Wall Street: Money Never Ends and Never Let Me Go. Both performances are being critically applauded and after her past performances there is little reason to doubt that.
The images from her cover shoot in the South of France are breathtaking... I would love to be out in the country and decked in couture - these images depict just that!

In the interview she mentioned that she wants "to be in Glee, but I'm told that I'm not famous enough for a cameo yet." I think the days of her not being famous enough yet are coming to an end. To see my "Crushing on Carey" post about her Interview Mag cover click here and for the full article check out Vogue.com.

Bring on the ballet!

I am actually excited to be packing up my sandals and dusting off my flats... ballet flats are so versatile and look good day and night. Plus with the abundance of options out there today you can spice up any outfit just by throwing on a pair!

RUE Mag

I was very excited for the launch of Rue Magazine last week - a new virtual design and lifestyle magazine (a la a TTT fave - LonnyMag). The photography is great and I can see that they have a very strong foundation of relationships that they have forged as the support from the blogger community was HUGE! I am hoping that in the future they improve the interactive features so there are more click-thrus, but all in all I am excited to add RUE to my reading list! Check out their first issue online now: RueMag.com.

I love the feature on SF blogger and designer, Victoria Smith. Her bungalow, which they described as "mid-century modern meets bohemian modern," is to die for!

I never thought I would find a shaggy rug appealing, but I am converted...

Love the deep wall color and the playful chairs against a gorgeous farmhouse table...

Victoria at Home...follow her blog: sfgirlbybay.com

Impeccable detailing...quirky, but perfectly unexpected...

Check out RUE for yourself and to see videos, photo galleries and enter to win items straight from the mag!

Guessing game...

If you had to guess where would you think the below home featured in this month's House Beautiful was located?

I think the designer Lindsey Bond did a great job in creating little vignettes around the house so when at the dining room table or in front of the console you feel like you are in a separate space...yet still part of the whole.

I love the clean, modern lines and the abundance of white. There is not that much going on in terms of pattern or texture, but the house looks chic and has an instant calming effect.

When I first looked at these pictures I thought the home had a California feel to it or possibly a summer retreat in Maine, but it is actually a small 1950's cottage in Birmingham, AL. I would not have placed this home in the South (and not because there is any lack of style there, there is an abundance!!). Where would you have guessed?

Must - have tee!

I highly recommend that everyone purchase one of these woolly ribbed henleys - they are absolutely yummy! They feel like cashmere and can be dressed up or down. All in all a perfect staple for your wardrobe. Snap one up at jcrew.com now!

Orange Oasis...

I have been hearing a lot about white this Fashion Week, but the color that has stood out to me most is: Orange. Somewhat of a tricky and tough color, but I have to admit I have really been liking the bright, bold offerings for next Spring.

An abundance of orange at Chris Benz.

Weekly TENS

This week's TENS is slightly shorter due to the Monday holiday, but I hope you enjoy!

If conversations are going to be relegated to texts, then we may as well make them count...

I got a kick out of this image - who said UGG boots can't be dressy?!? (Disclaimer: don't try this at black tie functions)

WILD for WHIT

Last week I saw the line WHIT at Steven Alan in Tribeca and immediately fell in love. I rushed home to start a post on this new brand, but could not find anything online about them! So I was thrilled when I stumbled upon an article referencing WHIT on nymag.com last night. Brooklyn based designer Whitney Pozgay worked at Kate Spade and Steven Alan before she set out on her own with her somewhat eponymous brand: WHIT. The models in her Fall look book are all wearing quite interesting head pieces (think oversized wine glasses, forks, arrows)...I guess quirky runs in the family - she is the fabulous Kate Spade's niece - which trust me is a good thing!

The second I laid eyes on the high waisted balloon skirt (above, left) I knew I had to have it...

A few looks from her Spring 2011 collection:

New addition to the book store!

One of my favorite design sites, Apartment Therapy, has a new book out: "Apartment Therapy's Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces." Since I am all too familiar with small spaces I thought it was a necessary addition to the TTT book store. A preview is below - although, these spaces don't look so tiny to me! or maybe I am just in the smallest apartment ever ;(!

Fall Basics

Spring 2011 Fashion Week has started and as styles go down the runway that we would all love to wear now, we must turn our focus to the Fall fashions that are overtaking retail. The fashion big-wigs really must do something about this off season calendar! But until that happens here are some staples I will be wearing for the cool breeze and changing leaves ahead:
